Johnny Carson’s rival Jack Delroy hosts the popular talk show “Night Owls,” a program that has long been a trusted friend to insomniacs across the country. However, the show’s ratings decline after the tragic death of Jack’s wife. Desperate to turn his fortunes around, Jack plans a one-of-a-kind Halloween special on October 31, 1977, unaware that it is about to unleash evil into America’s living rooms.
