2001: A Space Odyssey

While this film, which was developed based on a short story by Arthur C. Clarke, was considered a masterpiece by many, it was not loved by some. It is clear that 2001 contains numerous subtexts, many of them religious.
Kubrick himself did not clarify any of the question marks because he wanted people to be confused during his lifetime. HAL, perhaps the most famous of the computers we encounter in movies, is the creature that plays the most important role in this work.
Shooting of the film depicting scenes on the Moon was completed over a year ago and before humankind set foot on it. After Neil Armstrong’s trip, it is surprisingly evident that Kubrick adhered to the facts – which have not yet been disclosed – down to the smallest detail.

He defines the biggest step that separates humans from animals as the emergence of intelligence and asks the following question, among thousands of others: What is the next point of distinction? What is the next step of evolution? Was it an external force that started the first one? If so, what awaits us this time?
