Ayla

Süleyman (İsmail Hacıoğlu), who was sent as a soldier to the Korean War, forms a loving and sincere bond with a young Korean girl he takes under his care after she becomes an orphan during the war. He takes care of the little girl, whom he names Ayla, for months. However, when the war ends and he wants to bring the orphaned child to Turkey, he faces the obstacle of Korean laws and is forced to part with her, though it is difficult. Sixty years later, Süleyman Bey, who has no information about where Ayla is or what she has been doing, takes action to reunite with her.

The film Ayla is inspired by the true story of Süleyman Dilbirliği, who fought in the Korean War.
