Warm Bodies
A tortured zombie (Nicholas Hoult) undergoes a profound transformation after developing an extraordinary relationship with the daughter (Teresa Palmer) of a soldier assigned to kill the walking dead… On one hand, a fragile communication bridge is established between the living and the dead, while on the other, both sides of the battle come to realize that the world will never be the same again. Warm Bodies is a story based on Isaac Marion’s novel… Rob Corddry and John Malkovich also star in the film.
Zombies love humans, especially their brains. But R (Nicholas Hoult) is different from other zombies. Unlike the growling, slobbering zombies who are victims of a plague that has sent the remaining humans to a heavily protected city, R still has life within him. Zombies now roam an airport, searching for humans, living in fear of the dangerous “Boney” zombies who represent the next stage of their existence.
One day, R and his best friend, M, go to the city to find food. There, R sees a beautiful woman named Julie (Teresa Palmer). Deciding to save her first from the other zombies and then from the Boney zombies, R hides her in his home, a wrecked 747 airplane. Julie is frightened, but R’s reassuring growls help calm her down. However, as R begins to defend Julie, refuse to eat human flesh, and even tries to speak more clearly—essentially acting more human than zombie—Julie realizes that R is someone special.
After several encounters with the Boney zombies and learning that her father has started a search for her, Julie realizes she can’t hide forever. She leaves the house, abandoning R. Eager to see Julie again, R combs his hair, stands taller, and tries to behave like a normal human until he passes the city guards. If he can prove to humans that zombies can change, maybe he will have a chance with Julie. But when the angry Boney zombies attack the city and Julie’s father wants to kill R and his friends, everything changes and sets the stage for a war between the living and the dead.
Warm Bodies tells the story of a young man who is deeply in love with a girl, offering a different kind of love and transformation tale.
